Magnum Opus

My guy let me know he had some primo cake so I had to put it to the test.  Some records are made to be broken.  Here it is.  This is the heaviest one I'll ever make, destined to spend its days in the RFP underground training lab.  After I am dead and gone people will wonder why the f$%k someone made something this heavy and they will probably curse me.  Alternatively someone might dig it up in some post-apocalyptic future and worship it.  Who knows?  It is here.

How much did this one end up weighing? I've got to say, it is one of the finest looking kettlebells I've ever seen. If one of my ancestors is the one to dig this up, hopefully they do end up worshiping it. I would.

Thanks Jason.  I am not going to say exactly what it weighs.  I will explain why sooner or later.  Suffice it to say it is heavier than my previous best of 72kg.  I do not believe it is possible to go any heavier than this one.

Are we suppose to guess the weight?

Why would your wife let you set something that heavy on granite countertops?

      Hey Cate:

Good point about the counter top.  I set it up there gently and I made sure it was a part that had support and as soon as my Wife saw it, it was off the counter.

No need to guess on the weight.  I told Eric that the one I made for the American Kettlebell Club® (72kg) was going to be the heaviest one out there.  Given that, I am not going to say what this weighs.  It is a bit heavier than that though.  It is just a goal for me to work toward being able to get it overhead so I'll let it live out its existence in my basement.

      Thanks,

      Scott

She is not upset with me.  In fact she told me I should do this one.  I wasn't going to.  But now I am coming to the end of the stretch with this because I am getting sick of it.  I have a moderately stressful existence so this has pretty much been a pleasant diversion.  That last pair I made put me over the edge though.  I painted and stripped them 3x before I was happy with them.

My guess is , given the physical size and material used, I would say around 173lbs... +- 1.lb.
Nice job through, can you snatch it?

Yeah agreed.  I still have to get it down there.  It is still on the dining room floor.  It is too heavy.
