Burning Questions
A lot of people have been talking about the so-called AKC monster bells. The questions focus on the material used and whether or not it is radioactive. The radioactivity issue probably stems from my use of the term "yellow cake" as the code for the substance used to make these monsters. Yellowcake in real life is a form of uranium concentrate that could potentially be enriched to make a nuclear weapon. I would never use such a thing to fill a bell. You'd have to be a moron to do that; it simply isn't dense enough. The density is only about 2kg/l. Its a powder. Here is a pic of the stuff from wikipedia. Its a powder for crying out loud. I could get that kind of density from the kind of yellow cake Betty Crocker sells.
I prefer this type. It is denser.
Some might think it is depleted uranium as the density would be favorable. After watching this poet in action how could I use that? This guy seems pretty normal until about 50 seconds into the clip. Then he seems whacked out of his mind. Maybe that is just how poets roll, I am not sure.
Another possibility might be gold. After seeing this clip of Ali G at a protest and watching one of our most socially aware citizens lay down the facts on gold (starts at about 1:39 on the clip), how could I do that with all that environmental devastation and whatnot.
A couple people actually guessed what I used right off the bat. Ancient history now. I thought the 64kg bell I made for the AKC was the pinnacle. Turns out I was wrong. Put it this way, the one I made the other day is way heavier. It seems like it is glued to the floor. I used something different for this one. I needed something even denser than the so called yellow cake. Fortunately I got video of the process.Turn up your volume.

Now that is just a cool video at the end with the mushroom cloud.

If you're looking for a substance of higher density, you might check into Gram's crockpot pork chops.

Oh snap! Actually the density of those is low as all the moisture has evaporated. Think "pork jerky". Might make for a good substance to make lifting straps from. Good thing she doesn't read this.
