Happy New Year!
Hopefully everyone has had an exciting and productive year. I wish you all the greatest success in 2008. Thank you all for reading these posts and most of all for your interesting and informative comments. Here at RFP we swing at every pitch and sometimes we miss. But what the heck, it is a lot of fun.
I set up a couple resolutions and goals for myself, just a couple though. One is work-related reading for 20 minutes every day, this way I can fit it in and it doesn't overtax my attention span. Second is daily Chi Kung standing practice. Lastly I will religiously keep a training log in a notebook. I bought a calendar to keep myself honest on this. I figure the reading and the chi kung will have to be at least 5 days per week. This builds in a bit of a cushion because you can never be 100% but you can frustrate yourself trying. Thus the "type B" approach. My training goal is 50 long cycle w/ 32s short term, 60 reps long term. Real simple.
A couple candidate goals did not make this years list. One was eliminating the F-bomb from my vocabulary. F&*k that I'll do it next year. The other one I just started to consider and it is a worthy consideration. This is to give up sitting when I don't have to. This is based on an experiment someone on IGx did. I am wondering if my chronic hamstring tightness and hip flexor stuff is realted to all this sitting I do. I do less than most people but I bet I could eliminate a lot of it. It would certainly be some good mindfulness training. Maybe we'll add that later but I don't want to get overly ambitious.
Check out this footage from the HongMan Choy vs. Fedor fight from earlier today. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Scott ! As a guy who sits lots as well, I am interested in the particular IGX "experiment" you referred to. A link or more specific reference would be much appreciated.
All the best,
Eddie
